Ms. Edwards earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree in the Towson/Essex PA program at Towson University in Towson, MD, in 2005 after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in rehabilitation and human services at Boston University in Boston, MA, in 2000. Ms. Edwards is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
As a physician assistant, Ms. Edwards is trained to examine patients, order and interpret laboratory results and X-rays and treat complex medical conditions. In addition, she is focused on providing exceptional pre- and post- operative care to all patients. Ms. Edwards is an integral part of the team at Sentara Surgery Specialists, a member of Sentara Medical Group, and the larger Sentara Northern Virginia Comprehensive Breast Center as she and Dr. Negar Golesorkhi work together to develop personalized, comprehensive care plans for patients.
A destination for breast health programs and services, the Breast Center is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, as well as designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
