Dr. Golesorkhi earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, in 2002, followed by a residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, finishing in 2008. After her residency, Dr. Golesorkhi completed a Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in 2009. She is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and also holds two Master of Science degrees; one in molecular biology and one in human anatomy.
Since completing her training, Dr. Golesorkhi has been fully committed to the treatment of breast diseases, and today is dedicated to creating personalized care plans for her patients at Sentara Northern Virginia Comprehensive Breast Center, and through her Sentara Medical Group practice, Sentara Surgery Specialists. The breast center is is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), as well as designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
Community outreach, high risk breast cancer screening, minimally invasive breast biopsies, breast conservation therapy, and nipple sparing mastectomies.
