On September 20, Associated Builders and Contractors held its annual Excellence in Construction awards program at the Tysons Corner Hilton. This event honors the outstanding quality construction produced by members of Associated Builders and Contractors’ (ABC) Metropolitan Washington and Virginia chapters.
Hammes Company, in partnership with DPR Construction, was the winner in the Medical/New Construction (under $20 million) category for building Sentara Lake Ridge, Sentara Healthcare’s first outpatient medical campus in Northern Virginia.
Sentara Lake Ridge is located at 12825 Minnieville Road in Lake Ridge, and offers easy access to 24-hour emergency care, doctors' offices, and quality diagnostic testing including advanced imaging, digital mammograms and lab services, all powered by Sentara eCare®, the Sentara electronic medical record system.
“We are delighted that Sentara Lake Ridge was recognized for quality construction,” says Marty Ward, senior director at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center and project director for Sentara Lake Ridge. “We put a lot of time and effort into building a quality outpatient medical campus that will be used by our community for years to come.”
To select the award winners, judging teams reviewed the entry submittals and visited each project site. Every entry was fully and thoughtfully assessed by the judges using the Excellence in Construction Award’s rigorous criteria. Professionals from a cross-section of the building industry, including architects, owners, government officials, and other industry leaders, were asked to serve as judges.
