Prince William Chamber Business of the Year AwardWoodbridge, VA (February 4, 2014) – Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center has been honored by the Prince William Chamber of Commerce with the 2014 Business of the Year Award (35 or more employees). Award winners were announced during the Chamber’s annual Business Awards Dinner at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas.

“Sentara Healthcare has a long-standing tradition of investing in the communities we serve. I commend the work of our outstanding staff and physicians for their dedication to business excellence and to transforming healthcare in our community,” stated Stephen Porter, President of Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. “As many members of our team are also members of this community, we take pride in doing the right thing and helping to make Prince William County a great place to live and work.”

The Prince William Chamber of Commerce Business Awards are a celebration of business excellence, recognizing members of the business community for their innovative and outstanding contributions to the local economy, quality of life and the Chamber. Nominees included businesses large and small from a variety of industries, showcasing the diverse organizations that blend to make Prince William a national leader for job creation and economic growth.

“We are proud to honor and celebrate our membership, those business and community leaders who truly represent the best of Prince William,” said Chamber President and CEO Rob Clapper. While the sizes and industries of the nearly 60 nominated businesses varied greatly, the Chamber noted that dedication to community service was a common thread. “Each of the nominees regularly stepped outside of their organization to make a difference in the community they serve, whether through the Chamber or one of hundreds of local not-for-profit organizations,” said Andrea Whaley, Director of Events for the Prince William Chamber of Commerce.
