WOODBRIDGE, VA (Jan. 27, 2014) – Sentara Healthcare is pleased to introduce Sentara Radiology Specialists, currently located on the Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center campus in Woodbridge.
As a part of Sentara Medical Group, Sentara Radiology Specialists brings together Dr. Rebecca A. Zuurbier and Dr. Norbertina “Tina” Banson, two board-certified, fellowship trained physicians that interpret medical images and perform imaging procedures to support the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of women’s health conditions. With doctors Zuurbier and Banson behind the reads at multiple Sentara imaging centers, patients can rest even more assured that they are receiving the highest quality care.
About Our Radiologists:
|Rebecca A. Zuurbier, MD
Dr. Zuurbier received her medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1986. She completed a residency and fellowship in Diagnostic Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston in 1991 before going on to complete a fellowship in Radiology at Bringham and Women’s Hospital in Boston in 1992.
Dr. Zuurbier is a nationally known breast radiologist who subspecializes in mammography, ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of the breasts as well as core breast biopsies. She has held teaching appointments at Harvard Medical School and Georgetown Medical Schools. Dr. Zuurbier is a member of the American College of Radiology, the Radiology Society of North America and the Society of Breast Imaging.
|Norbertina “Tina” Banson, MD
Dr. Banson earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh in 1991. She went on to complete a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Hospital of Saint Raphael, Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn., in 1996 before completing a fellowship in Women’s Imaging at Rhode Island Hospital, Brown University School of Medicine in Providence, R.I., in 1997.
Dr. Banson specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions using medical imaging technologies. She is particularly focused on women’s imaging. She has been actively involved in the screening and diagnosis of breast cancer for more than 15 years. Dr. Banson is a member of the American College of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the Radiological Society of North America and the Society of Breast Imaging.
