Chaplain Chris Fosback is a retired United States Navy chaplain with prior service as a United States Marine. He received a bachelor of arts in religion degree from Mid-America Nazarene University, Olathe, Kan., and two masters degrees: master of divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary, Kansas City, Mo., and master of human resources management from Salve Regina University, Newport, R.I. He completed four units of clinical pastoral education (CPE) in residency at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo. (level II trauma center) to earn healthcare chaplaincy credentials.
Chaplain Fosback is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene, fully endorsed for healthcare chaplaincy. He served on the General Church of the Nazarene Chaplains Advisory Council for 14 years, assisting in the screening and endorsing of ministers for service in the pluralistic world of chaplaincy ministry. Chaplain Fosback also wrote curriculum for chaplain training in the modular course of study under the General Church’s International Board of Education and taught the course he wrote in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
He continues to serve as the visiting professor of chaplaincy ministries at Nazarene Theological Seminary, Kansas City, Mo.
Chaplain Fosback served for two years as a full-time hospice chaplain for
Sentara Home Care Services' Hospice Program
in Virginia Beach before becoming a part-time hospice chaplain in November 2010.
