Chaplain Richard Moon is a retired Navy chaplain with prior enlisted service in the Marine Corps.
He served as staff chaplain at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center for over four years. During that time, he was assigned to the critical care units (ICU and PICU), Substance Abuse and Rehabilitation Program (SARP), and the Expeditionary Medical Task Force (EMF) in Kuwait.
He received a bachelor of science industrial management degree from Georgia Institute of Technology and a master's of divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.
Chaplain Moon is an ordained Southern Baptist minister and is endorsed by the Texas Baptist General Convention for hospital chaplaincy. He is currently the full-time Sentara hospice chaplain for Virginia Beach.
