Just Keep Dancing!
Freddi Morgan, had her annual mammogram in December 2011 just as she did each year - only this time it was different.
She was called back for additional views, and an area of suspicion was identified. This led to a biopsy and confirmation that she had breast cancer. Imaging confirmed a mass approximately 3 cm in diameter and a positive lymph node.
Freddie, a tiny lady at barely 5-feet-tall, was 70-years-old at this time, and an avid tap dancer. Through 6 months of chemotherapy, bilateral mastectomies and 6 weeks of radiation she continued to dance. Treatment didn’t slow her down, or dampen her spirits. She always has a bright smile and a word to encourage those she meets.
Freddi’s advice is, "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to 'Dance in the Rain.'" This is advice she lives out every day!
