Community Recognition Grants


The community recognition grant program is a means to enhance community partnerships and support worthwhile projects that improve health in Hampton Roads.

Prospective Grantees:
Sentara Health Foundation is pleased to announce its 2008 Community Recognition Grants. Applications will only be accepted once each year. 

The Sentara Health Foundation is a division of Sentara Healthcare. The Foundation brings people and resources together to address issues impacting the health and the quality of life in the Communities it serves. In addition to addressing the future health care needs of the community, the Foundation Recognition Grant Program is designed to provide support and funding to not-for-profit organizations for projects that make a measurable difference in the quality of life and health of the individuals in those communities.

The Sentara Health Foundation grant application submission date is September 15, 2008This is the only date for applications for 2008 funding.

The completed application and two copies are due no later than 5:00 p.m. in the Foundation office.

All organizations seeking support from a Community Recognition Grant must use the enclosed grant guidelines and instructions, executive summary, and application.

Only applications that address one of the Foundation’s outlined priorities will be considered for review.

All grant applications will be reviewed by the Grant Committee and you will be notified of the final decisions within sixty days. Incomplete applications and applications received in the mail after the submission date will be returned.

The community recognition grant program is a means to enhance community partnerships in Hampton Roads Virginia and to create a more effective mechanism for supporting worthwhile projects that improve health.
