What if I have a patient care or safety concern? Sentara facilities are proud to be accredited by The Joint Commission. If you have a patient care or safety concern, The Joint Commission encourages you to first bring your concern to the attention of the health care facility. If this does not lead to resolution, you may bring your concern to The Joint Commission. For information on how to contact them, click here.
How can I thank someone who provided excellent care? We are happy to pass along notes of appreciation. Just use our Contact Us form. Be sure to provide your name, the facility where the care was received, along with the person's name and your personal note. We'll take care of the rest.
How do I obtain my medical records? Medical records are obtained through each individual hospital.
What is the policy on the release of information? Patient information is available by calling the Patient Information phone number for the hospital where the patient is admitted. (Please do not call 1-800-SENTARA for this information.)
