Sentara Pharmacy Services
The mission of Sentara Pharmacy Services is to provide optimal pharmaceutical care for all patients of Sentara Healthcare, and to improve care in the Tidewater region. Our innovative clinical-oriented practice model features deployed clinical pharmacy services, utilizes a knowledge-based computer system, and provides automated dispensing. Sentara Pharmacy Services has also been nationally recognized as a leader in medication safety. Our clinical pharmacists offer a number of pharmacy services and function as an integral part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Sentara Pharmacy Residency Program
The Pharmacy Practice Residency at Sentara Healthcare is an ASHP-accredited, 12-month program in an integrated healthcare facility, designed to expand knowledge-base and expertise in the provision of pharmaceutical care. Our residents will develop their practice skills in a variety of settings, ranging from highly-specialized, nationally-ranked, academic medical centers to diverse, community-based hospitals. They will also educate pharmacy students, other healthcare professionals, and patients on medication-related topics. Upon completion of the program, our residents will have the skills to serve as competent practitioners in a variety of pharmaceutical care settings.

Sentara Healthcare currently offers PGY1, Pharmacy Informatics, and Managed Care Residencies.
