Sentara Healthcare requires those who work in our hospitals to take computer-based training on a variety of topics. The course load depends on the job the employee or volunteer performs at Sentara.
The curricula is designed to target three main groups of hospital employees:
RNs/LPNs
Other hospital-based patient care staff, such as physicial therapists, operating room attendants or certified nursing assistants.
Support staff, such as volunteers, students and interns who do not directly care for patients, but help them in other ways.
Individuals who are not Sentara employees, such as volunteers, students and interns, may access courses through this Web site.
Employees and contract staff are required to complete this training through the Sentara University PLMS, which can be accessed from the Education channel on WaveNet.
The number of learning offerings to be completed is determined by the degree of contact the individual has with patients.
