Guest Services Program


The Guest Services Program is designed to assist travelers and their families when they are hospitalized during a visit to the Hampton Roads area. The program offers special services for the patient’s family so they can focus on helping their loved one heal, during what is often an overwhelming experience. Coordinated by the Concierge team, the Guest Services program helps alleviate stress and provide comfort for families during a time of crisis caused by an unplanned hospital stay in an unfamiliar community.

Qualifications:

Qualifications rest solely on the patient’s address at the time of admission. The patient’s address must be 50 or more miles away from the hospital to qualify for Guest Services discounts. The Guest Services Program is not available for outpatients. Residents of Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach do not qualify.

Services:


• Lodging is offered at several local hotels that participate in the program. Qualified guests are offered discounted overnight hotel accommodations limited to one night per family per hospital stay. By offering assistance we are not guaranteeing availability of hotel rooms. However, we make every effort to find suitable accommodations. A credit card is required to make reservations.

• Discounted meal cards for food purchases in the hospital cafeteria are given to qualified guests of the Guest Services Program. Cards are limited to three per family.

• Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel tickets for those traveling from the Eastern Shore are given to qualified guests.

• A Toll Free telephone number is available for qualified guests. Access to this number enables friends and family to call the patient’s room at no charge. The number cannot be used to make calls from the hospital.

To Access Services:

Services are coordinated through the Concierge Desk located in the main lobby during business hours. The Concierge Desk is staffed Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. After hours, or weekends and holidays please contact the Nursing Supervisor at 757-395-8033 for Guest Services arrangements.
