Laboratory Services
Services Offered:
A full services laboratory offering both anatomic and clinical services which include the following sections:
Chemistry
Microbiology
Urinalysis
Hematology
Blood Bank
Cytology
Histology
In addition to providing inpatient and outpatient services, we operate an active outreach program called the Physician Out-Patient Program within our primary service area. The program employs a part-time manager and two full-time technical representatives who pick up specimens and deliver results.
Expertise and Certification:
Laboratory employees who perform tests are certified - a mixture of ASCP and AMT certification. One employee has a PhD in Molecular Biology.
The laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists and the American Association of Blood Banks.
State of the Art Equipment:
The hospital laboratory is computerized and interfaced with the hospital information system. Due to the technical sophistication of the lab, only the more complex or lower volume tests are referred to outside laboratories.
