Digital Mammography with Computer Aided Detection (CAD)

A recent advance in the field of mammography, digital mammography has the greatest impact on early detection of breast cancer. Using digital technology, we are able to acquire higher resolution images more expeditiously with less radiation to the patient. The digital formatting of these images allows for more accurate image storage, as well as transfer of the images to alternate sites to facilitate patient care.

With each digital mammogram obtained, review of the images with the latest computer assisted detection (CAD) technology is performed. This increases diagnostic accuracy by adding an additional interpretive component to assist the radiologist.
