Sentara Rehabilitation Network

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Day Program

The Day Rehabilitation Program, located at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, is an intensive multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation. This program includes a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, a certified registered rehabilitation nurse, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, a speech pathologist, a case manager, and a neuropsychologist.

The medical director of the Day Rehabilitation Program is a physiatrist, a physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. The program is certified by Joint Commission and Medicare/Medicaid CORF (Comprehensive Outpatient and Rehabilitation Facility), and is a National Certified Stroke Hospital.

All of the disciplines work together to assist patients who have suffered a potentially life-changing neurological event in achieving their personal rehabilitation goals. Patients spend the day attending therapy sessions and other activities, which contribute to an overall sense of well-being and quality of life.
