Members of the Team: Auxiliary Updates
 Sentara Bayside Hospital Auxiliary awarded a check for $8,053 to Sentara Hospice Program as a result of the holiday Tree of Lights fundraiser. The Auxiliary sponsored In the Bag, a handbag sale, on March 13 in the cafeteria. They also sponsored a fashion show March 29 at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel and Conference Center with monies raised funding student scholarships in health care fields. On May 1, they will hold Bobbles, Bags and More in the hospital’s North Dining Room from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Sentara CarePlex Hospital Auxiliary will make a donation of $50,000 to Sentara CarePlex Hospital on April 17 in support of The Dorothy G. Hoefer Comprehensive Breast Center at Port Warwick. Sentara CarePlex Hospital Auxiliary Inaugural Golf Classic to benefit women's health will be held on May 3, 2007 at the Kiskiack Golf Course in Williamsburg, VA. Registration deadline is April 19. Sentara Leigh Hospital/Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Auxiliary invites employees to stop by and check out the new spring and Easter merchandise currently on display at Sentara Leigh, Sentara Norfolk General and Sentara Heart Hospital Gift Shops. Please note that Sentara Heart Hospital® Gift Shop hours have changed to Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sunday from 12 Noon – 8 p.m. Thanks to all who participated in the recent and very successful book sale at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. There will be a Fine Jewelry Sale in the A Wing Conference Room at Sentara Norfolk General on Wednesday, April 4 from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. with payroll deduction available.
Sentara Obici Hospital Auxiliary volunteers support the installation of the Lifeline Emergency Response System in the Sentara Obici Hospital service area. Recently the team installed the 200th Lifeline marking a milestone in the number of clients being served by this vital service. The Auxiliary kicked-off their annual fundraising calendar with an on-site book sale for all ages in conjunction with Imagination Books. Each fundraiser provides valuable resources toward projects that support Sentara Obici Hospital.
Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital Auxiliary will hold their first In the Bag sale featuring handbags and briefcases on April 10-11 from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the lobby. The Auxiliary’s annual fashion show, luncheon and silent auction is set for April 18 at the Princess Anne Country Club with proceeds benefiting the Virginia Beach Health Clinic. For tickets, call (757) 425-0201. The annual Ace of Hearts Tennis Tournament is set for May 4-6 at the Virginia Beach Tennis and Country Club with proceeds benefiting the hospital’s cardiac programs. | The Healing Garden | Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center Auxiliary was awarded the United Way of Greater Williamsburg’s Cruikshank Spirit of the Community Award 2006-2007 on March 22 at Legacy Hall in New Town in recognition of their Free Mammogram and Bone Density Programs. The total expenditures for these two programs since 1998 is $142,512. The Auxiliary also provided $33,000 towards the interior design of the Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center Chapel, which features the work of local artists, a stained glass window and handcrafted alter, podium and prayer box. The Auxiliary also provided $100,000 toward the design and construction of the hospital’s Healing Garden.
