Sentara Healthcare is Virginia's Only Health System Named as Employer of Choice® for 2008-2010
Low employee turnover, strong employee satisfaction rates, and
dedication to employee relationships beyond typical human resource practices are a few reasons why Sentara Healthcare received the national designation “Employer of Choice®” in June.
Employer of Choice® Inc., a company dedicated to formally recognizing employers who meet stringent labor marketplace standards presented Sentara the award following a lengthy, rigorous evaluation process designed to identify exceptional organizational practices and leadership initiatives.
“This external assessment of our organization allows us to review national best practices to continually improve our work environment, just as we do with safety,” said Mike Taylor, senior vice president of Human Resources for Sentara.
The award places Sentara in the top 10 percent of health care systems in the country for dedication to its employees, as well as excellence in leadership, organizational culture and best practices in attracting and retaining top talent.
