 Fourth Live Surgery Webcast a Success
The fourth 2007 live surgery webcast, “Minimally Invasive Lobectomy for Lung Cancer,” with Drs. Joseph Newton and Kirk Fleischer, was presented on November 29, 2007 by ExploreHealth with Sentara. In all, more than 26,000 people viewed the four live surgery webcasts conducted in 2007, and nearly 60,000 people visited the home pages at one time or another. Sentara Hospitals Receive Quality Awards
At the Virginia Health Quality Center’s annual Outcomes Congress in December, all seven Sentara hospitals were recognized for meeting or exceeding national quality measures in such treatment areas as Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI), Heart Failure, Pneumonia and Stroke. These awards represent successful implementation of national standards more than 85% of the time when these conditions are presented. Congratulations to all seven hospitals for doing so well against these standard measures.
