Network Asks Employees: How Do You Improve Health Every Day?

“I provide short term, solution-focused therapy for clients. Sometimes people come in distraught and I provide a safe place for them to talk about their issues. Many times people just need to be heard and listened to. They may need an objective opinion or some guidance on what they should do in a given situation. Some are dealing with grief or having relationship problems. When I meet their needs, I’m able to improve their emotional health which decreases their stress level and enhances their overall sense of well-being.”

“I collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, social workers, licensed counselors, patient service coordinators, pharmacists and benefit experts to help members stay healthy and to help at-risk members take better care of themselves. It’s a progressive, personal, tailored approach. We assess their level of commitment and willingness to embrace change, and help them find a program that will work for them. Our approach is like conducting an orchestra because each of these professionals – as well as the member – has a piece to play. Our best chance for a positive outcome is when everyone performs in harmony with each other.”
