October 5, 2006Virginia Beach, VA—How do you rate? That’s a question many area soccer players ask themselves.

As part of the Community Open House celebration at Sentara Princess Anne, Saturday, October 14 Sentara Healthcare and Velocity Sports Performance are offering free NIKE SPARQ athletic rating assessments. Area school-age soccer players are invited to participate in a number of exercises designed to measure and rank their athleticism in the areas of speed, power, agility, reaction and quickness.

The NIKE SPARQ rating is a way to measure players’ athletic ability on the field and is among the tools used by colleges and scouts to compare players locally and nationally.

Professional trainers from Sentara and Velocity will conduct test sessions taking up to 30 minutes. Interested players should wear athletic attire including loose fitting clothing and cleats. For more information about the rating system, visit www.sparqtraining.com.
