Hampton, Virginia- October 4, 2006 – Many Hampton Roads residents live with chronic, persistent pain that seems unbearable. In an effort to help these individuals, Sentara Healthcare and Medtronics are sponsoring a new, highly-acclaimed seminar aimed at breaking the cycle of pain. The seminar—“Pain Free Pill Free“— focuses on providing answers to the common dilemma of treating severe pain without the complications of prescription drugs. Geared toward individuals suffering from neck and back pain, spinal stenois, sciatica, work injuries, cancer, herniated vertebral discs, complex regional pain, and neuropathic pain, the seminar will offer information about new non-drug options for chronic pain.
According to the American Academy of Pain Management, chronic pain is a silent epidemic affecting an estimated 75 million Americans. 1 Left untreated, pain can have a significant impact on pain sufferers and their families—diminishing the ability to concentrate, work, exercise, socialize, perform daily tasks, and sleep. 2 Attending this seminar can be a beneficial first step toward a healthy new lifestyle.
