Sentara Princess Anne Now Open - New Doctors Offices Open This Week to Serve the Community

Virginia Beach, VA – December 8, 2006 -- Sentara Princess Anne, which opened in September, is available to meet the community’s medical needs. Located in southeastern Virginia Beach, near the intersection of Princess Anne and Dam Neck roads, off Concert Drive near the Virginia Beach Amphitheater, services include 24-hour emergency care, advanced imaging capabilities, a retail pharmacy, full service laboratory, and the newly opened cancer center.
This week, new doctors offices opened, including Dr. Melissa Lexier, pediatrician; Dr. Jason Johnson and Dr. Daniel McCready, family practice care; Dr. Bill Berry, ear, nose, throat and allergy specialist; and Complete Women’s Care, offering obstetric and gynecologic care.
“There is a tremendous need for pediatric care in this area,” said Dr. Lexier. “We’re looking forward to being able to serve the residents of southern Virginia Beach.” Sentara Princess Anne brings those services close to home.
Open to patients late October, the cancer center is further evidence of the partnership between Virginia Oncology Associates and Sentara providing comprehensive cancer care.
Patients needing complete cancer care now go to the same complex as their oncologists’ offices where imaging and laboratory services help with their diagnosis and treatment.
At the Advanced Imaging Center, subspecialty radiologists interpret CT (computed tomography) scans or MRIs (magnetic resonance imaging) that provide detailed pictures of organs and tissues for speedy diagnosis. Patients can also be scheduled quickly for ultrasounds, x-rays, mammograms, and bone density studies.
Early in 2007, an ambulatory surgery center, offices for Atlantic Orthopaedics Specialists, Orthopaedic Associates of Virginia and Sentara Physical Therapy will be added.
