Patient Move Details for The New Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center - Opening Thursday, August 17, 2006

We're Making a Healthy Move
|
On Thursday, August 17, 2006, a new era in healthcare debuts in Virginia when the doors to the new Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center opens.
 Prior to moving day: Please take home any unnecessary items in the patient's room, such as flowers, jewelry and extra clothing.
On Move Day, August 17: Please have family park in the Visitor's parking lot and enter through the main entrance. Volunteers will lead you to a hospitality suite until the move is complete. At the appropriate time, visitors will be escorted to their loved one's room.
Family members are encouraged to visit patients in the new Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center after 1 p.m.
Families who wish to visit before that time should check in at the Concierge Desk in the main lobby of Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center.
A hospitality room will be available in the cafeteria. Family members will be asked to wait until their loved one has been safely relocated into a room in the new Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center.
As the appropriate time, you will be escorted to your loved one's new room.
Visitors arriving after 1 p.m. need to check in at the Concierge Desk for their loved one's room number. (Your loved one may already have been moved by the time you arrive, and will have a new room number.)
If you have questions, please check with a Patient Advocate or the unit nurse where your loved one has been receiving care prior to the move.
We look forward to a smooth and comfortable move to our expanded facilities. As always, our first priority is assuring the health and safety of every patient.
Family members may also call (757) 984-8280 from 6 a.m. - 1 p.m. to check on the relocation of a patient. After 1 p.m., please call the main hospital number at (757) 984-6000.

Expanded, state-of-the-art emergency department with 29 private patient rooms and a 10-bed short-stay unit

Family Maternity Center with spacious labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum rooms with comfortable accommodations for family and visitors
Advanced surgery department with high-tech offerings such as laporoscopic ultrasound and minimally invasive surgery.
