The Red Cross operates a language bank available 24 hours a day with volunteer interpreters in 43 languages. The number to call is (757) 440-1111 or (757) 627-4975. It is primarily to be used in emergency/urgent situations. The service can also provide patients with information on long-term language interpretation needs while in the United States.
