HRT provides transit service around town and within Hampton Roads cities. Fares are $1.50 for adults, $.75 for seniors and disabled riders, and free for children less than 38 inches tall. Discount fare cards are available; transfers are free.
The NET: Norfolk Electric Transit buses are free and run every 20 minutes throughout downtown Norfolk, from Princess Anne Road on the north to stops at the southern end of the city.
To get the most accurate information and avoid confusion, new riders should either visit HRT online or call HRT at 222-6100 to determine which buses serve your destination. Bus routes 2, 4, 23 and 44 travel from downtown Norfolk to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Buses make pickups approximately every 30 minutes.
Ticket books for multiple rides may be purchased at Hampton Roads Transit offices at 1500 Monticello Ave. from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. or at the Farm Fresh grocery store on 21st St. and Llewellyn Ave.
