Sentara CarePlex Hospital opened in December 2002 with groundbreaking technology, a patient-focused design, improved patient safety features, a new medical staff and with the region’s largest Emergency Department. Sentara CarePlex Hospital’s cardiac services include diagnostic testing, diagnostic catheterizations, EP services, and cardiac rehabilitation. Residents on the Peninsula have the comfort of knowing that if admitted to Sentara CarePlex Hospital and in need of heart surgery or heart transplantation, they could have access to the nationally ranked heart program at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
