GI Health Program FAQs:
1. Am I going to be awake for the procedure?
Yes. Sedation is not used during these procedures, but a local numbing agent may be used.
2. Can I drive after the procedure?
Yes. There are no restrictions following these procedures.
3. What kind of preparations are required?
- Esophageal Motility Study - Nothing to eat or drink after midnight
- Rectal Motility Study - One Fleet enema one hour before leaving home
- PH Probe - Nothing to eat or drink after midnight the day the probe is inserted. Resume normal eating habits after the probe is inserted.
