Patients who need an aortic valve replacement, mitral valve repair, mitral valve replacement, tricuspid valve repair, tricuspid valve replacement or atrial septal defect repair are prime candidates for minimally invasive techniques. Essentially any patient who has isolated mitral, aortic or tricuspid valve disease or an atrial septal defect and is in need of operation is a potential candidate.
