The Living Organ Donor Network is a life insurance policy that is provided to all kidney donors. There are two primary purposes to the Living Organ Donor Network: the first is to provide the medical professionals at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital the ability to review your health status in the future. This is done through surveys that you will be asked to complete concerning your health, which will be mailed to you with a self-addressed return envelope. The second is to provide you with a safety net of protection for your family by means of life, disability, and medical coverage for complications that may arise from the donation. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital's Transplant Center pays for this policy at no cost to you.
