Testicular sperm extraction (TESE) may be an effective method for sperm retrieval from men with very low sperm counts or even azoospermia. During a TESE, the urologist may be able to diagnose the cause of azoospermia and possibly obtain sufficient tissue to provide sperm for intracytoplasmic sperm injection.
