Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Distinguish aortic pathologies, common and unusual, including congenital disorders, aneurysmal degeneration, and acute dissection, while focusing on early detection and understanding of treatment options for optimal patient care.
- Integrate management of hypertension, anti-platelet and anticoagulants, and manage work-up of the hypercoagulable state, common in patients with vascular disease.
- Analyze superficial and deep venous disease and increase understanding of the pathology and treatment options available.
- Demonstrate management of lower extremity arterial disease, to include the diabetic patient. Examine the pathology of the diabetic foot, diabetic foot infections, and their proper care including diagnosis, debridement, revascularization, while emphasizing the team approach for effective patient care.
This educational program is designed for Primary Care Physicians as well as Specialty Physicians and Allied Health Professionals from the Mid-Atlantic Region, to include: Family Physicians, Internists, Hospitalists, Cardiologists, Nephrologists, Neurologists, Vascular Surgeons, General Surgeons, Podiatrists, Emergency Medicine Physicians, Interventional Radiologists, Vascular RNs, NPs, and PAs.

Physicians may claim up to (12.50 hours) in Type 1 or Type 2 CME on the Virginia Board of Medicine Continued Competency and Assessment Form required for the renewal of an active medical license.
