Sentara thoracic surgeons use minimally invasive techniques, including stereotactic radiosurgery, to significantly improve treatment and outcomes of the most common forms of chest and lung diseases. No matter where you live in the Hampton Roads and northeastern North Carolina region, you have access to an integrated network of thoracic care through our hospitals and physicians.
Sentara provides the care level appropriate to your need, including diagnosis and treatment at six Sentara hospitals. For the most complex cases, some patients may be referred to the
Sentara Thoracic Surgery Center at Sentara Heart Hospital, where depending on patient needs routine or complex techniques may be used and could include the use of the
CyberKnife® Radiosurgery technology.
All of the thoracic surgeons in the Sentara Thoracic Program are specially trained and board-certified to ensure thorough knowledge of their area of expertise.
When transport to another facility is needed, transportation via a well-equipped ambulance or the Sentara Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance helicopter is available.
Patients need not leave the Hampton Roads area to receive excellent care and follow-up for their thoracic needs.
