Our mission is simple: To improve health every day. As part of that mission, we reinvest all earnings from operations back into our community and organization to continue our long-standing tradition of improving the health of the communities we serve.
In 2011, Sentara provided more than $214.5 million in community benefits. This investment back into the people we serve comes in many forms. We include uncompensated patient care, the teaching and training of healthcare professionals as well as community health and prevention screenings in the figure.
