For more than a decade, Sentara has become a regular on the U.S. News & World Report annual list of America's top hospitals.
For 13 years, Sentara Heart Hospital has been ranked among the nation’s best heart programs, listed as 49th. In addition, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital was recognized in urology, ranking 47th in U.S. News & World Report's 2012-13 Best Hospitals edition.
Our exceptional physicians, nurses and clinical teams are to be commended for their expertise in achieving these rankings. This type of clinical excellence should be a major source of comfort and pride for our patients.
In addition to the national recognitions, U.S. News recently introduced state and regional rankings. In the state rankings, five Sentara hospitals were recognized as the best hospitals in Virginia, while regionally four hospitals were recognized - three hospitals in the Hampton Roads region and one hospital in the Washington DC region. Sentara remains as having the only nationally ranked programs in Southeastern Virginia.
