With construction beginning in the fall of 2024 and a target completion date of spring 2027, this new facility will ensure the community has access to quality modern healthcare.

This new acute care hospital campus will be a hub of comprehensive healthcare services, including general surgical services, intensive care, inpatient treatment, observation beds, an emergency department, catheterization lab, operating rooms, a procedural room, dialysis suite, a new helipad, imaging services, a laboratory, pathology, inpatient pharmacy, rehabilitation, respiratory therapy, and several other support departments.

The services offered within the new hospital and current clinics will focus on treating the whole patient. This new hospital campus will allow us to boost clinical capabilities and bring innovative medical technologies to meet the evolving needs of our patients. It will also enhance the overall patient experience and meet the community’s needs for generations to come, with the capacity to expand as required.

  • Sentara Cares, Sentara's Community Engagement and Impact program, has provided $1.5 million to support community partners, including addressing workforce shortages by investing in the next generation of healthcare workers through scholarships to high school seniors and supporting the training of nursing students at Southside Virginia Community College.
