100 percent Sentara College of Health Sciences graduates in 3 programs pass licensing exams
Nurses, medical assistants, and allied health professionals eager to enter the workforce
One hundred percent of the graduates in three degree programs at Sentara College of Health Sciences have passed their licensing exams. This includes 69 graduates with bachelor's of science in nursing degrees, 26 graduates with a Master's of Science in nursing degree, and 16 graduates with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Cardiovascular Technology.
The college also graduated its first class of seven medical assistants (MA) this summer. Four are already employed by Sentara Medical Group practices and another is studying to be an office manager. All seven MA graduates were active members of SCOPE; the Sentara College Outreach Program of Excellence, a student organization that focuses on community service. Three of the seven continue to serve on the college’s Medical Assistant Advisory Board.
The college won the "Best of Coastal Virginia" magazine’s readers’ poll for the sixth consecutive year and in three categories: Best Private College/University, Best Technical School, and Best Specialty School.
The college has been selected as one of the 2023 Great Colleges to Work For by ModernThink, with designation as an Honor Roll institution by excelling in all 10 categories measured in the survey.
Sentara College of Health Sciences has also launched its 132 academic year, with 500 students enrolled in all disciplines for this fall semester.
