11 Sentara hospitals named among the nation's top hospitals for treatment of heart attack patients
Each hospital received two national awards that recognize high performance and patient safety
11 Sentara hospitals have received the American College of Cardiology's NCDR Chest Pain - MI Registry Performance Achievement Award and the Get With the Guidelines (GWTG) Mission Lifeline Award for 2023. Both awards recognize Sentara's commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients. Each hospital reached an aggressive goal of treating patients with a standard level of care outlined by the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.
"This is an incredible recognition for Sentara to have our cardiac and emergency services team members recognized for the life-saving care they provide when patients are in their most vulnerable moments," said Ashford Denman, Division Vice President of Cardiovascular Services at Sentara Health." To see so many of our hospitals receive this honor reinforces our commitment at Sentara to provide high-level, quality care in every community we serve."
