Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, along with Dr. Richard Jenet, have achieved robotic surgery and minimally invasive gynecology accreditation by Surgical Review Corporation. A Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery and Minimally Invasive Gynecology accreditation distinguishes this hospital from many other outpatient facilities by providing the highest quality of care to its patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation.

Status as an accredited organization and surgeon means Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center and Dr. Jenet have met nationally recognized standards. Not all healthcare organizations and providers seek accreditation; not all that undergo the rigorous on-site inspection process are granted accreditation.

“Affiliating with the SRC allows us to take advantage of their experience to give our patients the best possible care and outcomes,” explains recently recognized Dr. Richard Jenet, Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Women’s Health Center at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center and practicing physician at About Women OB/GYN.

Healthcare organizations and doctors seeking accreditation by SRC undergo an extensive self-assessment and on-site inspection. This process includes physicians, nurses, and administrators who are actively involved in the accredited program. The inspection is consultative and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.
