Groundbreaking held for Bridgewater Health Center
Sentara RMH Medical Center and Carilion Clinic celebrated today with a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Bridgewater Health Center. The facility will house Sentara Laboratory Services, Sentara Therapy Services, Sentara Imaging Services and Carilion Clinic Family Medicine – Bridgewater.
“We are pleased to be able to offer a one-stop shop for health services to the citizens of Bridgewater,” said Edward Sandy II, M.D., MBA, president of Sentara RMH Medical Group. “We know this type of access is something the community wants and we are happy to be able to meet their needs.”
Sentara RMH Medical Center and Carilion have both provided services to the community in Bridgewater for many years; however the new center will allow for expanded options and offer a unique way for healthcare providers to work together.
“As our practice continues to expand, we needed a space that would allow us to grow with our community,” said Arlene McCain, M.D., Carilion Clinic Family Medicine – Bridgewater. “Thank you to Sentara for providing such a space; we look forward to being your neighbors.”
The ceremony included brief remarks from both healthcare providers, as well as Jay Litten, superintendent, Town of Bridgewater. The 10,800-square-foot facility will be located on 8.2 acres at the corner of Dinkle Avenue and Don Litten Parkway in Bridgewater. The Health Center is expected to open in the fall of 2017.
