Made up of physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners, your primary care team works with you to identify and manage chronic illness, treat common medical conditions and achieve your highest level of wellness through preventative care and routine health screenings.

By choosing a primary care team within Sentara Medical Group, you have seamless access to specialists and other healthcare services available throughout the greater Sentara network of care. Plus, Sentara Medical Group patients have the chance to be more involved in their own health care through Sentara MyChart, an online tool that provides secure access to your care team and electronic medical record. With Sentara MyChart, all patients have the opportunity to securely schedule appointments, view their health history, request prescription refills and even review test results.

At Sentara Medical Group, we are pleased to offer two different branches of primary care, family medicine and internal medicine. Both offer a personalized approach to comprehensive care. Family Medicine

The team at Sentara Family Medicine Physicians is well equipped to care for your entire family. From newborns to seniors, their board-certified physicians and experienced nurse practitioners and physician assistants are dedicated to developing a personal relationship with each and every patient.

Internal Medicine

The team at Sentara Internal Medicine Physicians is dedicated to caring for adults of all ages and a variety of complex medical conditions. In addition to specialty training in internal medicine, many of their care team members have additional experience in geriatrics and chronic disease management.
