Internet Point of Care
The purpose of the Internet Point of Care Series is to provide structured, self-directed, online learning for physicians on topics relevant to their clinical practice. The specific objectives are to:
- Identify practice-based knowledge needs
- Complete extensive background research on a clinical question
- Reinforce clinical decisions through review of published evidence
- Learn new information related to clinical practice
- Translate knowledge into professional practice
- Improve patient care by utilizing current published evidence
The physician should be able to select and use appropriate professional, unbiased, peer-reviewed literature to answer self-identified clinical questions, to reinforce clinical decisions, to learn new information related to his clinical practice and to translate that knowledge into improved patient care.
