Sentara Healthcare relaunched its public-facing website on Thursday, March 12. This website brings together multiple websites into one, improving access to information wherever you are, on any screen.

Since the website has transformed quite a bit from its previous look and feel, we've provided a helpful guide below, including frequently asked questions. We've also prepared a photo gallery showing different features of the new site.

Why do we have a new website?

The new Sentara.com is more than a fresh, updated design that works on any device – it’s a new web experience that puts our customers first. The new experience is the digital front door to Sentara – often the first place people like you look for Sentara information and services. And,  we hope to answer one simple question: “How can we help you?” Answering customers’ questions quickly and easily is our first goal for the new Sentara.com.

Where are the websites for Sentara RMH Medical Center (rmhonline.com) and Martha Jefferson Hospital (marthajefferson.org)?

The new Sentara.com replaces the websites for Sentara RMH Medical Center, Martha Jefferson Hospital, Sentara Albemarle Medical Center and Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital and combines many of the Sentara websites into one, unified website experience.

Why am I being asked for my location?

In order to provide you with the most relevant information about our locations and services, Sentara.com will automatically detect your location using your website browser’s location services. You may see an alert from your browser asking if you’d like to allow our website to use your location. Clicking “Allow” will enable us to provide you the best website experience. You also may be asked to confirm your location to ensure we have detected your location accurately and are showing you the most relevant information.

The new Sentara.com will ask you to confirm your location the first time you visit and will save that information on the device you’re using. Please note that if you visit our site more than 30 days after your last visit, you may be asked to re-confirm your location.

You can change and re-confirm your location at any time.

I'm not seeing locations closest to me. Why is that?

Most likely, you have not allowed Sentara.com to use your location in your web browser’s settings. If you do not allow us to detect your region, location information will not be as accurate. If you are using Internet Explorer, you will need to select "Always Allow" in the dialogue box at the bottom of your screen if you are prompted. If you are using Google Chrome, this prompt will be displayed at the top of your screen. Clicking "Always Allow" will prompt your browser to remember your location so that when you revisit Sentara.com in the future, you will no longer see this prompt or be asked to confirm your location.

Please note that older browsers may not correctly display your location. Our suggested browsers are Internet Explorer 10+ or Google Chrome.

If you are visiting Sentara.com on your phone or tablet, please make sure you have allowed location services for your device’s browser. How can I access my medical records?

With the new Sentara.com comes a new place to login and access your medical records. From any page, click the "Patient Login" link at the top of the page, confirm or change your location and follow the prompts to login or start the process access to your medical records.  

Can I access the new website on my phone?

Yes! All content works on your device of choice whether a desktop computer, tablet or smart phone.

The best way to access information for employees and physicians is in the footer of our website. There, you'll find links For Employees and For Physicians. This will allow you to access portals like WaveNet

The best way to access MDoffice is to visit https://mdoffice.sentara.com. You can also access this portal at the bottom of every page by clicking on For Physicians.

How can I access my email?

If you are looking for a way to access your Sentara company email, visit For Employees in the footer and follow the links to access email.
