It’s also not just about business; it’s about our mission to improve health every day. In order to fulfill that mission, we must actively work to transform care and enhance our customer experience. That’s just as important as our work to recruit the best medical professionals possible so our patients can get primary and specialized care close to home.

We want to be able to deliver the right care, by the right caregiver, at the right time, place and cost while creating an extraordinary patient experience. We aspire to provide exceptional care without exception, and we can’t get there by remaining static.

This of course is easier said than done. But it is a challenge we have fully accepted.

We are investing in other companies that have solutions we want to help build on and refine. We are developing new models of care designed around the needs of specific patient populations, and we’re pursuing technologies like telehealth to expand the traditional healthcare experience outside of a brick and mortar structure.

Ultimately we hope that the benefits of these and many other focused efforts will be felt by the communities we directly serve; though, we don’t plan to stop there. Sentara Solutions is a new level of innovation and our first step towards building a portfolio of products and services that could help others in our industry transform as well.  If our experience and our partnerships could benefit other hospitals and healthcare systems across the country, the opportunity to benefit others and extend the impact of our mission is even greater as well.
