COVID-19 Safety & Vaccine Information
Sentara Healthcare is working with the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCHHS) to support COVID-19 vaccine administration using their phased approach.
Currently, our hospital-based Sentara COVID-19 vaccine clinics are offering the vaccine to all Sentara employees and community healthcare workers who are in Phase 1a. The clinics are not available to family members of employees.
Sentara Medical Group (SMG) community clinics are vaccinating a limited number of eligible Phase 1b patients in Virginia including SMG patients who are 75 years and older, starting with those who have an SMG primary care provider, and non-SMG community members eligible for Phase 1b with a strong emphasis on underserved communities and vulnerable populations in the appropriate phase group.
Eligible patients and community members are being contacted directly to schedule an appointment. Moving forward, Sentara will continue offering the vaccine to both of these groups based upon supply.
We appreciate your patience and continued cooperation as we work with our state departments of health to ensure everyone interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine will have access to one. We ask that you please do not call to ask about the timing of your vaccination. We thank you for your patience.
