Surgery

Located on the second floor of Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, the surgical services department consists of seven operation rooms, two endoscopy suites, two procedure rooms, sterile processing, a nine-bed post anesthesia care unit and a 36-room pre- and post-surgery care unit.

The surgical unit is also home to the catheterization lab, which performs a range of vascular procedures including stents, emergent/elective interventional procedures, angioplasty, atherectomy and pacemaker insertion. In addition, we have airborne isolation rooms located in each of the clinical areas.

Each of the operating rooms features state-of-the-art data ports, advanced video capabilities and a variety of standard mounted equipment. All areas are equipped with technologically advanced surgical equipment including new booms, integration systems and patient monitors.

Our staff includes a team of clinically expert, caring people with backgrounds in intensive care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, emergency nursing, with respective certifications and other specialized areas of inpatient nursing. As a team, their level of competency and sensitivity provides a standard of care and expertise that patients deserve and appreciate. Outpatient surgery is also performed at the Princess Anne Ambulatory Surgery Center.
