Mass casualty drill at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital
Don’t be alarmed if you see dozens of mock patients in bloody-looking makeup Thursday morning at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
There’s a mass casualty drill scheduled on the Eastern Virginia Medical Center campus shared by Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Both hospitals will receive mock patients in ambulances.
Norfolk and EVMS police officers and Sentara Safety & Security will also take part.
This event is part of regular training hospitals conduct to respond to mass casualty incidents.
The drill is scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 5, at 8 a.m. and conclude by 11 a.m.
