We offer American Red Cross lifeguarding classes which train individuals through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice.
Our class teaches teamwork, rescues and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard.
Completion of class does not guarantee Lifeguard Certification. Participants must attend all class days and times, and pass all written and skill tests in order to receive certification.
Participants will not be given a refund if they do not pass the class. If you feel you cannot meet the requisite requirements and would like to have our Aquatic Coordinator review your skills we would be happy to do so. Please contact our Aquatic Coordinator for an appointment.
All "Recertification Courses" are presented as "Review Courses." This is similar to a "Challenge Course" with the possible addition of video/lecture and practice of the skills before testing. All objectives must be met WITHOUT guidance from the instructor. If you are interested in registering for ANY Recertification Course, understand that several of the American Red Cross Courses have been updated to the latest revision. Please review the instructional manual before attending the course.
Requirements for Class: Individuals who have never taken a Red Cross Lifeguarding course, have taken the course and are more than 12 months expired, or a course by any of the agencies above may not enroll in "Lifeguard Recertification Course" and must take the "Full Lifeguard Training Course." There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee built into the cost of each course. This registration fee is required for registration. Cost covers books, materials use, and instructor time. Courses may cancel due to low enrollment; in this case, participants will be moved to another course at no charge. This class is an approximately an 6-8 hour recertification course. This class offers a recertification through American Red Cross lifeguarding coursework which train individuals through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice.
