Welcome to the Sentara Obici Hospital Food Locker Program in partnership with Suffolk Christian Fellowship Center.

Helping you access free, nutritious food with dignity.

We understand that times can be tough, and everyone needs a little help sometimes. Our goal is to increase access to free food for individuals and families in our community through a simple, welcoming, and respectful process.

This initiative supports Sentara Obici Hospital’s commitment to serving Western Tidewater and addressing social drivers of health, including food access and nutrition support.

What’s available?

Depending on availability, individuals may receive:

  • Fresh produce (fruits and vegetables)
  • Canned and non-perishable goods
  • Food items packaged in a bag or box for easy pickup

Who can receive food?

Everyone is welcome. The Food Locker supports individuals and families who may benefit from access to free food resources. Sentara Obici Hospital team members may share this resource with patients and families, and community members may also access the Food Locker based on availability and process.

You do not need to provide:

  • ID or proof of residency
  • Proof of income
  • Immigration status

How it works

  1. Visit the Food Locker location at Sentara Obici Hospital
  2. Follow posted instructions or staff guidance
  3. Receive available food items based on current stock
