Location Details
Our team will:
- Supervise and coordinate all areas of your child's care during his or her stay.
- Provide an on-call physician 24/7. We respond quickly to any changes in your child's condition.
- Communicate with your child's primary care provider so he or she knows what's happening while your child is in the hospital. If your child doesn't have a primary care provider, let us know immediately. Our team will help you find a doctor.
Discharge Planning
When your child is ready to be discharged from Sentara RMH, our pediatric hospitalist team will coordinate follow-up care with the primary care physician and any outpatient tests and procedures as needed.
We will provide you with a printed discharge instruction packet and any prescriptions your child will need while at home. Please take the instruction packet with you to any follow-up appointments.
